Let’s face it. We live in a world where people are always working on the go: in busy airports, in bustling coffee shops, or even in co-working spaces. While technology has given us a lot more freedom, there are also downsides. One of them being that there is a ton of private or sensitive information on our phones, tablets, and laptops.

If you own a business, it’s not just your own information you have to worry about. Any of your employees could be working on confidential contracts, financial information, business plans, or other sensitive documents. That puts your information at risk. Any stranger walking by could take a look and see it.

Screen privacy is important, especially if you ever work in a public space. You may even work in an office, but perhaps your co-workers really shouldn’t be seeing the information on your screen. More importantly, though, visual hacking is a huge problem. Fortunately, there are quite a few ways you can hide your devices from prying eyes.

Shortcuts

If you are out in public, and you realize someone is looking at your screen, there are ways you can go straight to the desktop in a hurry. If you’re on a PC, you just need to press “Windows Key” + D, and if you’re on a Mac, all you have to do is press the F11 key. This will take you to the desktop quickly, and the snooping stranger won’t be able to stare at your sensitive documents anymore. There are some drawbacks to this. For example, you have to be constantly aware of who is watching your screen, and this only works on a computer, not a tablet or phone.

Privacy Screens

These screens go on top of your laptop, phone, or tablet and allow you to see the screen fine, but anyone to your left or right will see blackness when they look at your screen. This is nice because you don’t have to worry about who is looking at your screen. You’ll just be able to focus on your work. The downsides of using a privacy screen are that it may make the actual screen look dimmer or less vibrant. And people standing directly behind you can still see your screen.

Smart Eye Technology

The only definite way to keep others from screen snooping is to use Smart Eye Technology. With Smart Eye Technology, your camera is constantly scanning to make sure that it’s your face that is looking at the screen. If another person peaks at your screen, it will register that person’s irises, and the screen will shut off immediately. So you’ll never have to worry about being aware of anyone who could be looking at your screen. If anyone does look at your screen, however, you will not only know about it, but that person will also quickly discover that you know they were looking at your screen.

While there are quite a few ways to hide your screen from prying eyes these days, only Smart Eye Technology can ensure that you are the only one who views your documents. Click here to schedule a free demo today.
